Things That Make Me Happy.

1. Sewing. Sewing makes me happy and I have not been sewing because my fabric shop is going off! I almost can't keep up with it, and looking around my sewing room makes me very frustrated because I have soooo much beautiful fabric right now and so many ideas and all I'm doing is packaging orders!!! I'm not complaining though, the $ is coming in handy this time of year. :)

2. Great Customers and Positive Feedback. I just got this feedback today from a very sweet customer:"WOW. Can't say enough wonderful things about this seller. She was kind, patient, funny, gave me a fabulous deal and best of all THE FABRIC OMGZ the fabric is T.D.F.! Will have a hard time not buying fabric from her every day now....thank you thank you!" *BLUSH* I can't believe how wonderful it makes me feel to be loved!

3. Russian Doll Fabric. I just love it, that's all.

4. Sunny Days. We're getting a lot of them now. I can't wait to start going to the beach.

Kinda Sorta Famous

Well, not really... I was so excited to see my photo of Midwest Modern bolts on decor8's flickr photostream! Wow, and then I went to the blog and I was given a bit of a promo plug! Cool! I really like her style and taste and HOW does she have time to find such cool stuff!? She looks a bit like my mom did at her age which is also very cool.

ANYWAY, I'm having a great sale on yardage from Amy's Butler's new line. Not sure how long I'll run the sale because really it's not making me any money, I'm just doing it for fun because I know money is tight for many sewers (everyone really) right now... it's nice to find a great deal once in a while and I hope to get some repeat business. So there is some self-interest involved.

On a side note, I'm going to Quilt Market in May with the new owner of my old shop... I can't wait! I hope to meet some of my fabric designing idols!!!!

Making A Comeback?

...I don't know yet. I just thought I'd at least say: "HI, You can find me at my Etsy shop, busily cutting fabric and getting ready for the ENTIRE line of Amy Butler "Midwest Modern", Heather Ross and Heather Bailey's new lines and much more..."

I really love reading other people's blogs but how does one make time for it all!? When I stopped posting to this blog last summer it was with the intention of spending more time outside, on the sewing machine, ANYWHERE but at the computer. But it would be fun to start up again, so I just don't know. I'm in limbo for now. My Etsy fabric shop has been so busy I almost can't keep up with all the orders, including and especially the CUTE CUTE CUTE Russian/Matroyshka fabric shown here:

This Week's Finished Projects...

Since I'm making so many things now that I am not working it's hard to write about each item, so I've just been posting a few things here and there.

This is a gift set I'll be selling in my etsy or else this fall at the craft bazaars I'll be doing. The pattern for the booties is from Stardust Shoes, of course. It's really an easy pattern, but I'm going to do a better job on the lining next time...

And this is a child's apron I made in about 25 minutes. It's a fun way to use my vintage reproductions. I have soooo many yards of these cute prints left from what I took from "LuminousThreads" before I sold it.

Vintage Sewing

I've been getting into my boxes of vintage sewing patterns this month, choosing a few to work with and the rest are in my etsy shop . Anyway, here are 2 projects and the patterns used. I'm not showing the complete dress yet because I have a bit of hand finishing to do. I think it would be cheating to show it before it's truly finished.

Other things I'm working on include a dresden plate quilt (all by hand) and some hair clips and pins. We were away over the weekend and I packed my picnic basket full of supplies and goodies! It's actually perfect for holding all my hand sewing/craft projects.

Not Blogging Much

I think I'm going to make a tooth fairy pillow with it, but I'm not sure yet. I'm also making quilts and I just finished knitting a baby bolero (see it in my flickr set).
